Stacked Items (P)

Method 1

You have a stack of layer items say for a Slave Show/Hide Layers slide show. Clicking through the stack is a PITA so try it this way.

Set the Site Pallet to "Show Items", you can select each of the layers there and import your images. You may not see the imported image as it may be hidden in the stack but the item file name will change to the name of the imported image file so you will know it has worked. Also set the Action parameters this way.

Drag the items in the Site pallet to rearrange their order in the stack - top is back.

Also very handy for selecting items inserted in tables. These items are shown indented below the table in the Site Pallet.

Method 2

If you have a stack of items and you'd like to edit one sitting somewhere down inside the pile, try holding down command and option while clicking. Successive command-option-clicks will select items further down the pile.

You can see which one's currently selected by looking in the Inspector palette to see the name and attributes of the current item.

If you want to edit the text of an item sitting beneath something else, use the command-option-click method to select it, then hit the enter key. This 'opens' the item for editing just as if you'd gone into text-edit mode the normal way.

Use the arrow keys to move about in the text and shift-arrows to select text (select-all to select it all, naturally), as you can't actually click directly on it. Remember, it still lives down inside that stack of items even though you're editing it.
