So you have a list of items in Word or Excel, say names and addresses. In Word, each person on the list should have their info separated by commas and each record separated by a return thus -
Fred Bloggs, 2 High Street, London, 0202 564 7685 Jean Smith, 456 Broadway, New York, 0875 935 988
- You need to get the text into a tab delimited format.
- In the Word doc select all and copy.
- Open Excel and Paste. You should get each record in a separate row with the data spread over a number of columns. If it is a mess, educate your typist!
- Save the Excel file as Text (Tab delimited).
- Open your Freeway doc and draw a 1 x 1 table.
- Place the text cursor in your table cell and File>Import text, choose your saved text file and set the import option at the bottom of the dialogue to "tab delimited".
- Freeway will ask you if you want to create extra cells, click OK.
It might be a good idea to sort the list first and break it into manageable chunks over a few pages.
